“To provide opportunities for people to enhance their lives through adult basic education.”
—Adopted November 12, 1994
Omega School, Inc. has been helping adults to obtain their GED/HSED for 35 years, in a one-on-one tutoring fashion. Many Omega School graduates have pursued advanced studies in institutions such as Madison Area Technical College, University of Phoenix, Upper Iowa University and transferring on to the University of Wisconsin System.
Founded in 1972, Omega, (now officially known as Omega School Inc.), began as an alternative for young people who were not succeeding in a traditional high school setting. The homey environment, low student-to-teacher ratio, individualized instruction, and committed professional staff provided an appropriate learning environment for these students. Through the years, many changes have taken place with regard to client population, funding base, and structure, but Omega still retains its dedication to educational excellence.
Omega School's mission is to provide individualized basic adult-educational instruction and support to adult learners as a means of improving the quality of their lives. Omega ensures that access to other opportunities, including the GED, HSED, training, employment, interviewing skills, and knowledge of resumes, is an integral part of each student's learning.
Sites for the programs are located throughout the Madison area for the convenience of all students. Omega offers GED classes at these locations:
